Restrictions: By Alabama law, birth certificates are confidential records with restricted access for 125 years from the date of birth. They may be obtained by the following persons, upon payment of the proper fee:

1. Person Named on the Certificate
2. Mother/Father (or Legal Guardian)
3. Husband/Wife of Person Named on Certificate
4. Son/Daughter of Person Named on Certificate
5. Sister/Brother of Person Named on Certificate
6. Legal Representative of an Authorized Person
