We often receive the same questions from our customers... so here are some of the more frequent questions and their answers.
Question: Will my certificate have the " raised seal " and be a real certified certificate?
Answer: Yes, they are issued by the state or county of birth and will be a legal document confirming U.S. Birth and citizenship.
Question: How much my birth certificate will cost?
Answer: State fees range from $22.00 - $69.00, this includes FedEx or UPS shipping. Our fee is $49.00
Question: Can I e-mail my certificate request?
Answer: No, we must obtain a signature from the requesting party. Orders can be either faxed or sent to us via air courier or regular mail.
Question: Must I provide a photo id?
Answer: We ask that everyone who has suitable identification fax it along with their order. If you are unable to provide a photo id, send your order without it, and we will contact you if we require more information.
Question: My child has no photo id... what do I do?
Answer: The photo id should be of the parent or requesting party. You must be at least 18 years old to order.
Question: What happens to my personal information?
Answer: After we receive your request, we provide your information to the proper issuing agency for retrieval. We then file your application in a locked file until we are sure we will no longer need to refer to the order. At this point all information is shredded. We do not share your information with anyone other than the proper state or county agency.
Question: How fast can I receive my birth certificate?
Answer: Same day deliveries are possible in some cases with the additional expense of a same day courier service. Average rush time is 1-3 days in most cases. Contact us by phone or e-mail to verify your order if time is short.
Question: How do I determine rush and regular delivery time?
Answer: Use our " pull down" menu on the main page to determine average times. If you are still in need of advice or information, call or e-mail us with the state / county of birth and your concern.
Question: Is all information required on the form?
Answer: It is always helpful to provide all information requested. If it is not known, leave it blank and we will contact you if we need more information.
Question: How do I change information on a birth certificate?
Answer: Certificates can be amended by the state of birth for different reasons. Contact us with the county and state of birth and we will provide you with a phone number to call to begin the process.
Question: What if no record is found?
Answer: If you receive notice that no record is on file, you can use that along with supporting documentation to obtain a passport. A " delayed" birth certificate can be issued by the state of birth by providing specific records that " prove" your birth.
Question: Who can order a certificate?
Answer: State laws vary,,, but in all cases the parent(s) or the certificate holder may order. Some states allow other family members access and some still will provide the information to anyone. If you are not the parent or certificate holder, explain your relationship to the person and we will contact you if there is a problem with you obtaining the certificate.
Question: Can my certificate be faxed to me?
Answer: In most cases the state will not fax a birth certificate because a faxed copy holds no legal weight. Some will in SOME cases... and we will be glad to ask if it would be possible.
Question: Can my certificate be ordered on the weekend?
Answer: You can fax your request anytime, but the state or county processing agencies will only process and issue birth certificates M-F. Saturday delivery is possible when ordered in time.
